（Development of WISE Program to foster
AI Professionals for Marine Industries）

Foundation of the Doctoral Program for World-leading Innovative & Smart Education (WISE Program) Educational Fund

Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT) plans to establish a WISE Program for the Development of AI Professionals in the Marine Industry beginning in April 2020. This is a five-year integrated graduate school course, which was successfully adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan as one of the WISE Programs in 2019. We intend to foster "marine AI innovators" who will lead the social implementation of AI by introducing education on big data and artificial intelligence that builds on the outstanding marine knowledge of TUMSAT, which is Japan's only marine university.

Accordingly, we have established the WISE Program Education Fund as part of the TUMSAT fund to support this Program. All donations will be utilized to provide financial support (education/research support fund) to the students enrolled in this Program.
