The 10th OQEANOUS Plus Meeting was Held.

The 10th OQEANOUS Plus meeting was held online on October 28, 2022, with Prof. Wang Xichang from Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) as a chairman, Prof. Ikuo Hirono from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT), Prof. Cheol Huh from Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU), Assistant Prof. Wanwimol Klaypradit from Kasetsart University (KU), Associate Prof. Lee Choon Weng from Universiti Malaya (UM), Associate Prof. Channarong Rodkhum from Chulalongkorn University (CU) and other faculty staffs.
The main topic of this meeting was the report of STP Summer School Fieldtrip. STP Summer School Fieldtrip was conducted in September and October. From Korea Maritime and Ocean University, 2 students visited University of Malaya, 3 students visited Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, whereas from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, 4 students visited Chulalongkorn University and Kasetsart University and TUMSAT welcomed 7 students from KMOU, KU and IPB, and provided 5-day fieldtrip. Students from Korea, Thailand and Indonesia enjoyed not only visiting labs and facilities at TUMSAT but also Japanese cultures.
Then as with the last meeting, we confirmed the student acceptance status of International Joint Program (IJP) and Double Degree Program (DDP) for spring semester 2023. Although China still has strict COVID restrictions, SHOU will have 1 student from TUMSAT. KU will have 2 students from TUMSAT, TUMSAT will have 2 students from KU, and KMOU are preparing to send 1 student to TUMSAT.
Lastly the meeting agenda followed with PhD program at SHOU. Chinese Government will start full scholarship program in 2023. SHOU will be waiting for more applicants and the application closes on February 01, 2023. Also, SHOU will be holding 110th Anniversary Celebration and Presidents Forum on November 4th and 5th online and offline. The registration is open until October 31st.
The next OQEANOUS Plus meeting is scheduled to be held online on Dec/02/2022.
