Report on Completion of Internship at Maruha Nichiro Corporation　(HORIGUCHI, Course of Marine Resources and Environment)

I participated in an internship program at the Maruha Nichiro Corporation Central Research Institute and Toyosu Head Office for a total of nine days over a one-month period from November 2 (Thursday) to November 30 (Thursday).

In this internship, I analyzed the correlation between feeding and environmental information and the growth of farmed fish using actual data recorded at the Maruha Nichiro Group's fish farms, created growth curves, and discussed the use of data and management of farmed fish breeding. On the final day of the internship, I presented the results of my internship period. During the internship period, I also had the opportunity to talk with people from various departments within Maruha Nichiro Co. I was able to hear about examples of implementation of the technology they developed and how they tried to solve problems in the field. Since I usually conduct experiments in the laboratory, it was refreshing to hear about what is happening in the field and I learned a lot.

I believe that this internship will be a very useful experience for my research in the future, as I was able to analyze data related to aquaculture and experience a part of the actual situation related to data analysis at aquaculture sites. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Maruha Nichiro Corporation.
