Report on Completion of Internship at WISE Program Partner Institute NPO Marine Technologist
(SHI,1st year, Course of Maritime Technology and Logistics)
From October 17 to November 4, I participated in an internship with a non-profit organization, Marine Technologists. The theme of the internship was to evaluate the accuracy of operational performance estimation using the weather routing (navigation support system) developed by MTL, and it was a good opportunity for me to learn many methods of handling data by analyzing operational data.
It was also my first attempt to evaluate operational performance from typical operational data. The internship provided me with detailed guidance on data cleansing, determination of outliers, correlation charts, and modeling methods, and I was able to spend a meaningful time participating in this internship.
In research, when we analyze data indices, we sometimes find points that differ from theoretical values. Therefore, further analysis may lead to interesting conclusions. I hope to make use of my internship experience to further my research in the future.
