Report on Completion of Internship at WISE Program Partner Institute IDEA Consultants, Inc.
(ETO, Course of Marine Life Sciences)

I participated in an internship program from August 25th to September 2th at the National Institute for Institute of Environmental Informatics of  IDEA Consultants, Inc.
The content of the project was "Can we improve the efficiency of learning by combining projected GAN and BYOL, a type of self-supervised learning? Since this was an experimental trial, we did not know what the results would be. I enjoyed working on this project, even though I did not know an experimental results.
At first, I referred to the models that the employees had actually built for each model, and I compared them to the papers and their explanations to understand the architecture and develop a plan for implementation. Since the program lasted only seven days, we had only  two days to make the system, so we were not able to proceed to the stage of conducting various comparative experiments and evaluating performance. In particular, I feel that the advice I received from the employees improved my skills in writing code and how to read AI-related papers.

On the last day, there was also a presentation of the results, and I made an effort to create slides for it. Since employees who do not specialize in machine learning also participated, I tried to make my presentation understandable to them.

Although it was only one week, I feel that I learned a lot. I intend to use the experience I gained here to advance my own research. I would like to thank everyone involved for providing me with this opportunity to study.
