The 9th OQEANOUS Plus Meeting was Held.

The 9th OQEANOUS Plus meeting was held online on September 02, 2022, with Prof. Cheol Huh from Korea Maritime and Ocean University (KMOU) as a chairman, Prof. Ikuo Hirono from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (TUMSAT), Prof. Wang Xichang from Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU), Assistant Prof. Wanwimol Klaypradit from Kasetsart University (KU), Associate Prof. Channarong Rodkhum from Chulalongkorn University (CU), Associate Prof. Lee Choon Weng from Universiti Malaya (UM), and other faculty staffs.
The main topic of this meeting was the report of STP Summer School 2022. STP Summer School consists of online lecture, field trip, and presentation. As a kickoff of this program, online lectures were conducted from July 25 to July 29. 32 students from 7 universities attended and 17 lectures were provided online. Then filed trip is schedule to be held in September and October.
Then as with the last meeting, schedule of student exchange for the spring semester was discussed. We confirmed to use the designated application forms within 7 universities for the students to apply to this program. Shanghai Ocean University, on the other hand, was asked about the current COVID restrictions. Currently Chinese Foreign Affairs Embassy just started visa application process for the degree student program from August but not yet for short-term or summer program students. The restrictions are eased little by little.
The next OQEANOUS Plus meeting is scheduled to be held online on Oct/28/2022.
