The 1st OQEANOUS Plus meeting was held.

The OQEANOUS Plus Program is a quality-assured educational exchange program which is developed from OQEANOUS Program that started in 2016 among 3 maritime universities in Japan, Korea, and China. The OQEANOUS Plus Program now consists of 7 universities in Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia) and starts from this year upon adoption of Inter-University Exchange Project by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
We are honored to announce that the kick-off meeting was held on Dec/01/2021 with Prof. Ikuo Hirono, Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Marine Science and Technology, as a chairman, and attended by 26 faculty members from 7 consortium universities.
At this meeting, we mainly shared information and exchanged opinions on schedule and considerations for formulating guidelines and agreements on credit transfer among consortiums, which are necessary for the implementation of this program, and agreed to start mutual dispatch with four ASEAN universities from next fiscal year.
In addition, Prof. Wang Xichang, Dean of the Graduate School of Shanghai Ocean University, who will host the OQEANOUS Plus join information session scheduled to be held online in March 2022, explained the status of the session and we actively exchanged our opinions so that many motivated students can participate.
The 2nd OQEANOUS Plus meeting will be held online at the end of January 2022.
