（Development of WISE Program to foster
AI Professionals for Marine Industries）

WISE Program Students Presented Academic Reports at the Symposium of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology and Shanghai Ocean University

December 19th in 2023, President Toshio Iseki, Vice President Akio Okayasu, Associate Professor Wu Haiyun, and others attended a joint symposium between Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology and Shanghai University of Marine Science and Technology. The first symposium was held in May 2006. The two universities continued to hold the event alternately, and this year marks the 17th anniversary.

This year, four faculty members (Associate Professor Mario Shibata and Assistant Professor Lianhui Wu from the Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology) and four graduate students (Master's student Horiguchi Yusuke and Doctoral student Darasiri Kritsada from the University, who belong to the WISE Program) presented academic reports under the theme "AI and Artificial Intelligence Marine Technology".  In addition, Project Associate Professor Kino Toru explained about 'the Development of WISE program to foster AI Professionals for Marine Industries'.
