【Reason for Application】
The reason why I joined STP program was because I wanted to study abroad. I was planning to study abroad while I'm still an undergraduate student, however, I couldn't go because of Covid 19 and classes to acquire qualifications. Therefore, I've been thinking to study abroad after enrolling graduation school, I heard of OQEANOUS program, and I decided to apply for STP program which is short-term program.

【Program Description
The STP program consisted of two parts: online lecture and on-site visits. The first week was online lectures. We took classes each day from several teachers who belong to participating universities and wrote a report. I wasn't able to understand every class because English accent was different depending on the country, but I managed to submit a report every day. I wish I knew other TUMSAT students so that I could have cooperated with them, but since I was able to manage it by myself after all, it wasn't a big problem.
After finishing the online lecture, we went to Busan, Korea. I met TUMSAT student participants at the airport and was taken to the plane by the coordinator.
After arriving in Korea, we went to the dormitory in KMOU where we would be staying while we are in Korea and had a meet-and-greet dinner with KMOU students. We were both nervous at the beginning, but once we started talking to each other, we could enjoy the time there. The next day, we were divided into groups with Korean students and Japanese students and went for sightseeing in Busan. I enjoyed hanging out with students using English and Korean. From the next day, we toured laboratories and university facilities during the day, and had free time at night. I went out to eat Korean food with Japanese students at last day.
After returning to Japan, we met up with students from other countries at the airport and toured the research labs at Oizumi Station, Shinagawa, and Etchujima campuses. At Oizumi Station, we shared hotel room with students form other countries, so I had many opportunities to talk and deepen my friendships. Also, after moving to Tokyo, we went sightseeing and had dinner with students from other countries after the program.

【My impressions】
In this program, I could only meet other students who joined this program for just one week, but we spent fulfilling time and it made us to be close to each other. Since I could visit the university in Korea, I was able to get a feel for what it would be like to study abroad for a long period of time, and to see if interacting with people from other countries was suitable for me. If you are interested in a study abroad program, it might be a good idea to try it out as it is a short-term program.
