Education and research will be conducted to realize the safe operation of ships, which are the primary means of marine cargo transport, using advanced technologies related to information, communication, automatic control, system optimization, and operation management, to improve the efficiency of marine transport while giving consideration to marine environmental conservation, and to apply accumulated ship operation technologies to various fields including the development, management, and operation of new marine structures.
