  1. A new course will be established in The Graduate School of Marine Science and Technology's Master's Program with a capacity of 15 students
  2. Course name: Marine Environment and Energy Professional Training International Course (alternative name: Japan-China-Korea Exchange Project)
  3. Objective: "Training advanced, independent professionals who are capable of working with environmental and energy strategies"
  4. Course students belong to: Any Course in the Master's Program (all Courses). For information about supervisors please refer to "Researcher Information".
  5. Requirements for completion: Completion requirements for Course the student belongs to (including master's thesis) + requirements of this Course (the following 13 credits). Some credits are recognized as fulfilling the same requirement for both Courses, so this Course can be completed with between 30 and 39 credits.
  6. Requirements for completing this Course: 1 credit from internship subjects, 6 credits from case method exercises, 6 credits (3 subjects) from 36 designated subjects (existing subjects in each Course)
  7. Establishment of supplementary classes in Japanese and English
  1. Enrollment period: October 2025(regular admittance in October, with admittance to some Courses possible in April)
  2. Selection method: Students recommended by a consortium university are selected by The Graduate School of Marine Science and Technology's "Special Recommendation Admission for International Students"

    Application Forms
    Includes document screening and a verbal test (interview) by faculty members from the university. Students recommended by a consortium university take the test at the consortium university. Other students take the regular selection test and are subject to other screening.
  3. Selection period: For students who will be admitted in October 2025, selection is scheduled to take place during an appropriate period between December 2024-February 2025
  4. Cost: No Examination Fee and Admission Fee wiil be charged. Half of Tuition Fees (\535,800/year anticipated) will be charged. It's possible to apply to waive the remaining Tuition Fees. *To be confirmed Scholarships can be applied for.
  5. Housing: Priority entry in one of the university's International Houses.

*Please note that in March 2026, Hoyo-ryo (Shinagawa Student House) and International House will be closed, and no further occupancy will be allowed. A new international dormitory is scheduled to open on the Shinagawa Campus in April 2026.

  1. We establish a consortium starting with our university, six Chinese universities, and two Korean universities for the purpose of implementing this initiative
  2. Anticipated participating universities: Ocean University of China, Shanghai Ocean University, Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Ocean University, Dalian Maritime University,Zhejiang Ocean University, Pukyong National University, Korea Maritime University
  3. Faculty member exchange: Plans to invite around two faculty members from each university annually for a short-term stay (from one week-several months)
