Ocean Environmental Technology
Ocean Environmental Technology involves educational research into advanced scientific technologies for the sustained and effective use of the ocean and its resources while preserving its ocean environment. This specialization places an emphasis on engineering technologies in improving the preservation and use of ocean ecosystems and in improving the productivity derived from the sea. Specifically, this involves the preservation and use of coastal ecosystems, measuring of the scale, ecology, and environments of marine wildlife resources, creation of environment preserving marine mechanical systems, development of information technology with the aim of improving productivity and economic efficiency, and approaching solutions for the various issues relating to human work in the ocean and for maritime safety.

In this field, student study focuses on critical abilities and concepts of the knowledge and theory required for permanent use of oceanic resources while at the same time preserving the ecosystems present in the sea. Research is furthered through experiments and measurements carried out in the laboratories and in fieldwork, while maintaining a constant dialogue with the sea.

While humans live on the earth and utilize its sea, humanity must maintain an expert association with the ocean. This field of study offers students the chance to participate in attractive research that seriously considers the symbiosis between the ocean and humankind. This research covers such areas as the development of methods for the experimental probing of preferred near-shore environmental images, sonic wave measurements of water temperatures, and determination of fish shoal volume, size, and species.
