On February 23th, 2017, the 2nd Erasmus Meeting was held at Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and Executive Director & Vice President Prof. Tokai, Graduate School of Marine Science and Technology, Vice Dean Prof. Maida, Professor Okayasu, and Assistant Professor Watanabe attended from Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. The meeting was convened in order to discuss the operation of the international collaboration education program on marine science based on the Japan-Korea-China Version of Erasmus adopted by MEXT's Re-Inventing Japan Project in FY2016 and conducted by Shanghai Ocean University, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. The first meeting was held here in January this year.

At this second meeting, a guideline and draft of an agreement related to students' credit transfers were considered, the FY2017 schedule including summer schools and symposiums among the affiliated universities was discussed, and the program renamed OQEANOUS (which stands for Oversea Quality-assured Education in Asian Nations for Ocean University Students; Oceanus being a sea god in Greek myth). It was also decided to rename the meeting the OQEANOUS meeting accordingly.

The 3rd OQEANOUS Meeting is scheduled to be held at Shanghai Ocean University in late April.
