This course conducts education and research on the explication of the unique physiology, ecology and functions of marine organisms in individual and population levels by using the most advanced techniques on molecular biology and chemistry. It also con-ducts education and research of the development of advanced theories and technologies leading to the sustained production and highly effective utilization of marine bio-resources, including the composite areas of biological and food production. It aims to obtain, maintain and manage marine bio-resources in harmony with the marine environment, increase the production of safe and high-quality marine bio-resources, design food products using these bio-resources, produce substances by applying the unique functions of marine organisms to them, and develop novel food products with new functions.
