On February 22, 2020, Assoc. Prof. Katagiri of Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology and three other members of our university's administrative staff paid a courtesy call to the Rector of Ege University, and also received an external evaluation regarding the OQEANOUS Project. On the day, Prof. Dr. İhsan YAŞA, Dean of the Faculty of Science, Assoc. Prof. Tolga Dincer, and Assoc. Prof. Serpil Serdar from Ege University attended a meeting as members of the External Evaluation Committee.

First, after paying a courtesy call to Prof. Dr. Necdet BUDAK, Rector of Ege University, Assoc. Prof. Katagiri gave an outline of our university, and our administrative staff explained about the project. After that, a meeting was held with the External Evaluation Committee. During the meeting, there was a question-and-answer session and exchange of opinions on matters such as the current situations regarding the course catalogue, performance evaluations, learning agreements, student exchanges, and thesis examinations for the awarding of double-degrees.

After that, we received the evaluation and feedback from the External Evaluation Committee. In the feedback, the committee commented that our website for providing information to students in advance was well developed, and the guidelines on credit transfer (CTSEA guidelines) were also well organized. The committee thought that these points would enable student exchanges to continue smoothly among the three universities (Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and Shanghai Ocean University). However, they also noted that there were still matters that needed improvement compared with Europe's ECTS, for example with regard to the content of the course catalogue, the details of performance evaluations, and the form for the learning agreements.

We will reflect the opinions presented to us on the day in our future efforts, and continue to improve the project.
