FY 2016 MEXT Inter-University Exchange Project:the 10th OQEANOUS Meeting was held.

  The 10th OQEANOUS Joint Meeting was held at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology on November 19, 2019. Attending on behalf of our university were Prof. Maita, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Marine Science and Technology (responsible for implementing this project at the university), Prof. Akio Okayasu, Prof. Fuxiang HU, Assoc. Prof. Daisuke Watanabe and three other members of the university staff. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Huh Cheol, Vice Dean of the Graduate School, Assistant Prof. Yang Inho and three other members from Korea Maritime and Ocean University, and Prof. Wang Xichang, Dean of the Graduate School and, lastly Prof. Zhong Junsheng, Director of International Exchange and three other faculty members from Shanghai Ocean University.

  During the meeting, information regarding the following points was exchanged: the results of the questionnaire survey which was conducted in July of the same year, issues with thesis examination for double degree program (DDP) students, the implementation of the next summer school, and recruitment for the regular program next year. Also discussed was a checklist to make sure that information about the program is provided to students through the website, the end-of-program survey, and the latest information about the report on CAMPUS Asia Monitoring which was compiled last year. Furthermore, after the meeting, the DDP Student Symposium was held by students who have earned a double degree and also those who are now joining the DDP. Four DDP students gave a presentation, and afterwards students voiced their opinions regarding the improvement of the program.

  The 11th OQEANOUS Joint Meeting is scheduled to be held at our university in March 2020.
