The FY 2016 MEXT Inter-University Exchange Project: the 6th OQEANOUS Meeting was held

On April 23, the 6^th OQEANOUS Committee Meeting was held at Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU). Prof. Maita, Vice Dean of Graduate School of Marine Science and Technology, who is primarily responsible for this project, Prof. Okayasu, Prof. Hu, and other four university staff (TUMSAT); Prof. Cheol Huh and other three university staff (KMOU); Prof. Xichang Wang, Dean of Graduate School of Shanghai Ocean University and other eight university staff (SHOU) attended the meeting.

This OQEANOUS meeting was convened in order to discuss the operation of the international collaboration education program on marine science based on the China-Japan-Korea Version of Erasmus (renamed as OQEANOUS*) which was adopted by MEXT's Inter-University Exchange Project in FY2016. The committee was held five times between January and October 2017.

The 6^th meeting was held for sharing information on current situation and further improvement in relation to starting joint student exchange programs (IJP and DDP in OQEANOUS Program) in October, 2017 and the first IJP students program finished in March. Participants exchanged their ideas on recruitment for this fiscal year for each program, summer school, course catalog, credit, and also CTSEA Survey whose purpose is the assurance for quality of education. Lively discussion was held for future plans of this program.

The 7^th OQEANOUS Committee Meeting is scheduled to be held in the middle of November at TUMSAT.
