PROGRAM
OVERVIEW
METIS provides the following programs:
Before participating in the interdisciplinary and credit-transfer exchange program (CTEX), students can take the short-term introductory online program (ALC).
This allows them to experience virtual classes at their host university, familiarize themselves with the necessary language skills, and understand cultural differences in advance.
By doing so, students can better prepare for their study abroad experience and maximize its effectiveness.
However, students may choose to take each of the three programs separately or adjust the order based on their needs.
For more details on each program, please select the relevant button at the bottom of this page to access the corresponding information.
-
ALC
Interdisciplinary online joint lessons through active learningStudents will take specialized courses taught by multiple faculty members from universities in Japan and Northern Europe, complete reports, and engage in academic activities.
They will experience local classes, interact with Nordic students, and enhance their motivation for studying abroad.
This program also helps them adequately prepare for their language proficiency and learning environment. -
CTEX
Interdisciplinary and credit-transferable exchange programsStudents will stay at a partner university for one or two semesters, aiming to earn 30 ECTS credits.
Through the learning agreement and system implemented by Oceanus Plus, students can freely select courses across various fields regardless of their major.
Credit transfer will be conducted based on the guidelines established by each university.
By participating in this credit transfer program, students will have the opportunity to apply knowledge from disciplines outside their field of expertise to solve problems within their own specialization, fostering interdisciplinary learning and innovation. -
Internship
Internship to train "highly-specialized engineers who will shape the future of the ocean"We offer both research project-based internships and work experience-based internships.
Both outgoing and incoming students will determine the content and desired timing, then choose and enroll in one of these options.
The research project-based internship allows students to enhance their research skills by working in different environments under the guidance of their thesis supervisors and faculty members at the host university.
The work experience-based internship enables students to participate in practical training at research institutions, companies, or other organizations within the host university's country.
