Common Subjects

Students will learn and confirm basic knowledge as a common platform for marine policy and management.

Training Subjects

In “Internship for Marine Management Policy” and “Practical ESD (Education for Sustainable Development) Training”, students will learn the social and economic mechanisms necessary to realize sustainable use of coastal areas and oceans through hands-on experience.

Specialized Subjects

Marine Policy

Students will study about policies and rule makings for the comprehensive and sustainable use of the oceans from a social science perspective in the areas of marine use rules, international relations, marine industrial policy, coastal zone policy, and maritime policy.

Marine Utilization and Management

Students will gain an understanding of the current state of the marine environment, marine resources, and the coastal environment, and study about management methods for their rational use and conservation in the areas of biological resources, seabed resources, coastal zone management, and marine environmental management.

Marine Environment and Culture

From an international viewpoint, students will study both natural and social environments, mainly from the perspectives of the humanities, social sciences, and sports sciences, to examine and solve ocean management and policy problems from multiple perspectives.
